In 2006, Sino Gas signed a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for the Linxing Project and SJB Project with China United Coalbed Methane Corporation Ltd. (CUCBM) and carried out exploration activities in Lin County and Xing County in Lvliang City. CUCBM implemented internal organizational restructuring and the SJB Project was transferred to China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec)，and managed by Petro China Coalbed Methane Co., Ltd. (PCCM).
The SJB Project is in Lin County and the PSC covers an area of 1,055.979 km2. The Overall Development Plan (ODP) for the western area was filed with the National Energy Bureau in September 2019, indicating that the SJB Project had entered the production phase. The annual production capacity of tight gas is estimated to be 300 million m3. The second tight gas project in the SJB Project's central area is under development and the report on the proven reserves will be submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources.
